Tuition

As we grow, we try to balance accessibility with sustainability. We are always reviewing our tuition process to make sure we’re being responsible to our current families and to the future health of the community. We want our community to be one that you can count on being available to your family now and in the future. For us to attract and retain the wonderful guides that we want to be there for our youth, we also want to make sure we’re able to pay them enough to meet their financial needs. Our tuition is created by the FLC community. ​

We have always been committed to keeping our costs as low as possible and making sure forest learning is accessible to all children. In this spirit, the sliding scale asks families who are able to contribute more to our program to do so. This makes it possible to offer scholarships, improve our infrastructure, give ongoing education to our staff, provide more resources for our guides, support homeschooling families in novel ways, and give priceless educational experiences to your children. The tuition chart is meant to be used as a guide for your family to make the right decision for where you fall on the sliding scale. Please don't hesitate to reach out if this tuition is a barrier to your enrollment.

For our school year program, FLC requires a $400 non-refundable deposit per household due on July 15. For families enrolling after July 15, we ask for the deposit at the time of enrollment. Monthly tuition is from September 2025-June 2026. To ensure stability for the program and guides, you are expected to commit to an entire year of tuition at the time of enrollment. Tuition is due on the first of the month.

For our summer program, full payment for a pass is due 48 hours before your first day of attendance. You are welcome to purchase another pass during the summer if you use up all of your days and would like more. Any unused days at the end of the summer will have the funds allocated to scholarships for next year. ​​
