8:45am - 4:15pm Choose any combination for attendance on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday September to June.
Your child will be learning with peers and loving nature on the beautiful (yet un-named!) 26 acres at 734 rt 222.
Along with the important nature curriculum that we discover everyday, play themes like these are likely to restart in the Day Program this year:

AY-OH Bacon, our favorite faux-French restaurant that only serves bacon dishes.

Blacksmithing and pewter sand casting

Building the building. Working on our 10x20 cabin, partially disassembled for transit. Real cabin/real tools.

Jesse’s Wonderful Cat Cafe, serves tea and sweet treats

Wood carving/ wood burned spoons and bowls

Forts, I mean…of course!
While each day is different in the forest, learners thrive within a structure and rhythm. Days begin with Morning Circle, then Nature Foray (time for working on projects and ideas within the learning group), Lunch, Wander (afternoon collaborative project time), Stewardship, and end with Afternoon Circle. There is plenty of time for project work, journaling, gathering, preparing, researching, sharing, building and hands-on time. Mondays include the option of utilizing Magpie Sewing Lab. Wednesday includes Math to Build on.
Sewing Lab at Magpie (any age, though it is a long day for younger ones to focus) Every Monday we take a deep dive into sewing, construction, pattern making, jewelry arts, printmaking on textiles, clothing up-cycling and other fiber problem solving. Learners turn their drawings and ideas into plushies, cos-play, wearable art and fashion. (Learners enrolled in other FLC day programming can choose to spend days at the sewing lab for a fee. Learners enrolled in Monday FLC day program can choose either forest days or sewing days) (One art unit)
Math to Build On (10-18) (Wednesday during program) Using the text book, Math to Build On, and building real projects along the way, learners will use hands-on learning as they practice concepts. (This simple and straightforward book explains the basic math used in construction, manufacturing, and design. Learners spend a focused time block on learning the mathimatical concept, and then immediately use that concept in a building project. (One Math Unit)
