Forest Learning Collective
As we grow, we try to balance accessibility with sustainability. We are always reviewing our tuition process to make sure we’re being responsible to our current families and to the future health of the community. We want our community to be one that you can count on being available to your family now and in the future. For us to attract and retain the wonderful guides that we want to be there for our youth, we also want to make sure we’re able to pay them enough to meet their financial needs. Our tuition is created by the FLC community.

We have always been committed to keeping our costs as low as possible and making sure forest learning is accessible to all children. In this spirit, the sliding scale asks families who are able to contribute more to our program to do so. This makes it possible to offer scholarships, improve our infrastructure, give ongoing education to our staff, provide more resources for our guides, support homeschooling families in novel ways, and give priceless educational experiences to your children. The tuition chart is meant to be used as a guide for your family to make the right decision for where you fall on the sliding scale. Please dont hesitate to reach out if this tuition is a barrier to your enrollment.
Your child is considered enrolled when we have the following (due by July 1st):

Deposit of one month's tuition (will be used as last month's tuition)

Our program runs 9am - 4pm from September thru June.
Schedule a Visit
We invite families to schedule a morning visit with the learning group that you would likely join. We arrive at 9:00, and there is some free play until the group gathers for a morning circle. At the circle stories are shared or some kind of inspiration from nature to help children notice changes that are happening around them. Then the day begins with hiking or building or whatever the project in progress is. Snacks are frequent, so bring food and drinks and anything you need to be comfortable in the forest.

As our program continues to grow, our board is mapping out ways we can better accommodate our current families and make space to expand and diversify the program.
